Metal premiums 2017

Through long-term contracts with metal producers and traders operating on a global scale, the Wieland Group ensures a reliable metal supply to its customers.

The current development of the metal markets requires an adjustment of the metal premiums.

For deliveries made from 1 January 2017, the metal premiums will change as follows:

Copper: - 6 US dollars per ton

Zinc: + 10 US dollars per ton

Tin: + 25 US dollars per ton

Nickel: + 25 US dollars per ton

Lead: + 10 US dollars per ton

Aluminium: + 30 US dollars per ton

Opposites combined: special bi-metals from Wieland

How can two metals with very different material properties be combined?

Wieland provides a new solution: special bi-metals which combine two firmly joined materials – even if the properties of both materials are such dissimilar that they cannot be joined together by conventional processes.

These bi-metals are primarily applied in the electrical and automotive sectors and wherever two metals with very dissimilar properties are required. The joining of aluminum and steel, as well as the joining of high-strength materials with ductile metals also belong to the application field of these special bi-metals from Wieland.

Customers obtain the prefabricated material compounds as semi-finished products and components from Wieland for further processing and do not have to carry out a demanding joining process themselves. This operation is a highly specialized process called laser cladding and is carried out directly at the semi-finished and components manufacturer Wieland.
