Safe and efficient heat transfer for higher equipment and process efficiency

Wieland Thermal Solutions at the PowerGen 2017

Ulm – 29 May 2017 – At the PowerGen 2017 in Cologne from 27 to 29 June 2017, Wieland Thermal Solutions will present sophisticated thermal solutions for process as well as machinery and plant technology in hall 8 booth M93. Considerable improvements in energy efficiency as well as capacity utilisation and moreover to an increasingly compact design can be achieved with enhanced surfaces on the tube inside and outside as well as heat exchangers with designs optimised for customer requirements.

For the segment machinery and plant technology, Wieland Thermal Solutions offers heat exchangers for a wide range of applications as well as double-wall safety tubes for the highest standards regarding equipment safety, for example in chemical processes such as the production of polysilicon.

GEWA-safe safety tubes are used in processes like the pre-heating of fuel gas for gas turbines, for the protection against environmentally harmful and toxic substances where a cross-contamination has to be prevented by 100 %. The tube-in-tube solution has defined leakage paths between inner and outer tube for the absolutely reliable separation of fluids, e.g. reactive fluids. This ensures highest equipment availability, efficiency and safety, as damage to inner or outer tube is immediately recognisable and can be fixed during planned maintenance. Good thermal contact of the two tubes results in very good heat transfer without additional heat transfer fluid.

At the trade fair, Wieland Thermal Solutions will also showcase current solutions for the increase in equipment efficiency for power plant technology. Turbo CPT and EPT condenser and evaporator tubes show significant benefits for ORC cycle based power plants. They enable a compact heat-exchanger design, reduce footprint as well as CAPEX and OPEX. The surface structure of the tubes enhances the effect of the condensation process and nucleate boiling.

For the other applications in the power generation industry, Wieland Thermal Solutions will also present the product portfolio of low finned tubes in a wide range of materials to cover different requirements of thermal conductivity, mechanical properties and corrosion resistance.

Trufin S/T and Turbo-Chil as well GEWA-K, GEWA-KS are tubes made of carbon steel, stainless steel and titanium. They are mainly used in coolers, preheaters or recuperators to achieve savings in the overall design, for example regarding fluid inventory, piping, racks and foundations.
