Wieland-Werke AG at the ISH 2017: copper tubes for the supply of drinking water, heat and cold – hygienic and energy-efficient

Energy-efficient supply of heat and cold as well as hygienic supply of drinking water are the central trade fair themes of Wieland-Werke AG at the ISH also this year. The Ulm-based manufacturer of copper tubes and copper materials presents its respective current product portfolio in Frankfurt. Regarding underfloor and panel surface heating, the focus is on the cuprotherm system with the new, ultralight “ekoLight” structure. In the field of pre-insulated refrigeration tubes, Wieland also offers new dimensions, thus rounding off its product spectrum as a full-range supplier. Wieland customers also benefit from the new service functions on the website www.wieland-haustechnik.de which is also presented. This website includes, among others, an online “system finder” for the first time from March 2017 enabling architects, planners and installers to easily choose a solution from a large number of cuprotherm floor structures. In the field of drinking water supply, Wieland presents the entire SANCO and WICU copper tube programme. For industrial manufacturers, experts in heat exchangers and fittings materials are also available at the ISH: Besides the lead-free premium alloy CUPHIN, Wieland presents its wide range of drinking water alloys which are all on the Federal Office of the Environment (UBA) hygiene list. The transitional regulations concerning the use of the positive list will expire in April 2017. After that the positive list for metallic materials will be applicable and legally binding.

For energy-efficient surface heating with the cuprotherm system on the basis of copper tubes, Wieland presents the extended portfolio as well as an additional system structure: the thin-layer and ultralight cuprotherm “ekoLight”. The current portfolio includes system components for underfloor and panel surface heating, drinking water installation and radiator connection. There are also a number of innovations regarding control systems. Here, Wieland offers new analogue and digital room thermostats such as a WLAN-capable control module for control also via smartphone. The new version of the cuprotherm planning software is also presented. With the online “system finder” on the redesigned homepage customers can choose the suitable system structure from more than 50 variants.

In the field of air conditioning and refrigeration applications Wieland exhibits pre-insulated refrigeration tubes in additional dimensions. Another product on show is the innovative K65 high-pressure tube system. Based on the high-strength copper alloy K65, the system consisting of K65 tubes and K65 solder fittings is suitable for applications with operating pressures of up to 120 bar. It is, therefore, particularly suitable for use as high-pressure piping system for CO2 as an environmentally friendly refrigerant. Last autumn already, the K65 system was complemented by an additional dimension.

Regarding alloys for fittings, Wieland focuses on the lead-free premium sanitary material CUPHIN. The portfolio comprises various other drinking water alloys, in particular AQCUARIN which is suitable as a follow-on alloy for CW602N. All Wieland sanitary alloys meet the requirements of the UBA hygiene list, which will be legally binding as from April 2017, and are included in this list.
