Wieland-Werke AG: Change in the Chairmanship of the Executive Board

With effect from 1 April 2017, the Supervisory Board of Wieland-Werke AG has appointed Dr. Erwin Mayr as Chairman of the Executive Board of Wieland-Werke AG. He succeeds Harald Kroener who will retire effective 31 March 2017. Dr. Mayr has been a member of the Executive Board of Wieland-Werke AG since 1 January 2017.

For more than 45 years, Harald Kroener has been working for the Wieland Group in different positions both in Germany and overseas. Since 1 January 1988 he has been a member of the Executive Board of Wieland-Werke AG. In 1999, he was appointed as Spokesman and in 2007 as Chairman of the Executive Board. “Harald Kroener has contributed significantly to the success of the Wieland Group. We thank him very much for his long service as well as extraordinary commitment and wish him all the best for the new chapter in his life.”, says Fritz-Jürgen Heckmann, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Wieland-Werke AG.

Dr. Erwin Mayr, 47, born in Wertingen, Bavaria/Germany, studied physics at the Ulm University where he received a doctorate. He started his professional career with an international business consultancy and joined the aluminium industry in 2002. There he held various management positions, with his last position being President of Novelis Europe, Zurich. Effective from 1 January 2017, Dr. Mayr was appointed to the Executive Board of Wieland-Werke AG.
