It is apparent that the demands made upon the differential are caused by a high level of force combined with poor lubrication. Under these circumstances, all moving parts (whether bushings or washers) are subject to stress. In this case it makes sense to use only those materials that are extremely durable.
Depending upon the operating conditions either wrapped or machined bushings can be used. The bushings (e.g. at the bevel gear) have to fit well. If the bushing slides out, the whole differential may be blocked, which means that the bushing will be damaged, leading to its failure in the long term. The plain or spherical washers constantly "suffer" from insufficient lubrication. It is essential to select the right material for these.
We recommend wrapped bushings of Wieland-L66 and machined bushings of Wieland G66 or Wieland S40. Thrust washers are made of Wieland L66, Wieland B09 and Wieland S31.
