Bushings and shafts for rocker arms/roller tappets

It is not only the number of rocker arms per cylinder that has increased but also the power of transmission can no longer be compared to that of the past. This applies to all rocker arms, for both valves and injection systems. When choosing materials, the short and rapid oscillating motion as well as lack of lubrication have to be taken into account. There are high expectations for tribological material characteristics.

For this purpose we recommend wrapped or machined bushings made of Wieland B09 or Wieland L66.

There is also the factor of heat caused by friction when the cam(camshaft) contacts the crank lever arm (rocker arm). This friction can be reduced by using roller rockers, roller tappets, etc.

For the bearing of the roll, wrapped or machined bushings on the one hand and shafts of non-ferrous metal on the other hand are recommended. If the shaft is made of non-ferrous metal, the roll runs on the shaft. Suitable alloys for both cases are Wieland U17 and Wieland G66.
